Coronavirus update

South Central Adult Services is doing our best during this coronavirus outbreak to keep you equipped with accurate information and necessary services, so you can be as healthy and safe as possible. With the wellbeing of our clients and seniors as the primary focus, South Central Adult Services is following CDC recommendations to decrease large group gatherings amid heightened concerns surrounding the potential risk of COVID-19.

Congregate dining and activities will be limited to groups of 10 or less through at least Friday, May 1, 2020.  We are offering meals for pickup during this crisis as well as frozen meals.  In Valley City, meals can be picked up at 11:30 in front of the senior center where the meals will be brought out to your car.  Call your senior center for information on their meal policy.  The home delivered meals program will continue as normal.  The menus will not change and can be found in your county newsletters or in the newsletter section online at www.southcentralseniors.org.  Call your center to reserve a meal at least one day in advance if possible.

These changes are being implemented in all six counties served by South Central Adult Services.  They include Barnes, Foster, Griggs, LaMoure, Logan and McIntosh counties.  South Central Adult Services will continue to monitor the situation, work with state and local health officials and will follow recommended guidance as it becomes available.  All programs and services are being evaluated on a case by case basis to ensure the safety of all involved.  Any cancellation announcements will be broadcast on your local radio station, our facebook page and this website.

At this time, South Central Transit Network transportation services will continue operating as usual in all 8 counties (Barnes, Emmons, Foster, Griggs, LaMoure, Logan, McIntosh & Nelson).  To further lessen exposure, we are offering pharmacy and grocery pickup for seniors and vulnerable people.

As of right now, we ask that you take the following measures to keep yourself and others healthy:

• Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or alcohol based hand sanitizer.
• Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze and throw the tissue away immediately.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
• Keep at least six feet away from anyone coughing and sneezing.
• Stay home when you are sick.
