Barnes County Food Pantry The Barnes County Food Pantry provides food to individuals and families needing assistance. To be eligible to receive food from the Food Pantry, a referral is required from Churches/Pastors, Outreach Workers or Barnes County Social Services. Donations Food and money to purchase food is donated by generous individuals and businesses. Area churches, schools, businesses, and organizations have food drives to collect money and/or food donations to keep the cupboards of the Barnes County Food Pantry stocked so that food can be provided to those who are in need. Food and money can also be delivered directly to the food Pantry. Food donations will be put to good use to help fight hunger in the community.
· Food Donations Food can be donated through food drives or directly to the food pantry. Guidelines for donated food are few but important: food items should be unopened or with individual internal packaging still intact and not be beyond their "use before" date. In other words, your donation should be something that you would be willing to eat. · Money Donations Money is gladly accepted by the Barnes County Food Pantry. Money donations will be used to purchase reduced priced, overstocked items from area grocery food distributors. Money donations provide the Food Pantry with the flexibility to purchase those items that are in need but in short supply. · Donate your time Volunteers are always welcome at the Barnes County Food Pantry. To find out how you can help, contact the Barnes County Senior Center receptionist at 845-4300.
